We have been engaged by the largest non-profit medical center in Hawaii to recruit its Manager, Trauma Services. This key position will oversee a Level II Trauma Center with a total of nine FTEs including two Clinical Database Coordinators and three Physician Assistants. The Manager will administer and coordinate the Trauma Services Program and maintain the Program’s posture of leadership within the community. Coordinating overall staff education regarding trauma care is also an essential part of this position.

  • At least two years experience in critical care or emergency nursing with emphasis on trauma care
  • At least two years of management experience in a Level II or I Trauma Center
  • BSN required
  • Master’s Degree preferred

We have been retained by a health system in Hawaii to recruit a Patient Experience Advisor. This multi-hospital system serves Hawaii and the entire pacific rim. Reporting to the Director of Organizational Effectiveness, this key position will drive innovative strategies, programs, tactics and support systems to effectively promote the Patient Experience programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategy and support systems to promote Patient Experience programs.
  • Analyze and present data and trends to assist leadership team in identifying areas of focus and facilitate the improvement process.
  • Provide coaching and consultation to all levels of management, physicians and staff regarding patient experience data interpretation, initiatives, and tactics.
  • Identifies best practices from external sources and within the health system, and acts as a change agent to implement best practices among all HPH facilities.
  • An energetic and persuasive individual with excellent communication skills
  • At least five years of experience in clinical operations, QM/QI, patient relations, or patient experience
  • At least three years of supervision and staff training experience in a healthcare setting
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Quality, Health Care Management, Business Administration or related field required. Master’s degree preferred.

Our client is a confidential 150+ bed hospital on one of the popular islands in Hawaii.

Reporting to the Imaging Director, the Manager oversees about 80 staff in radiology, CT, Ultrasound, MRI, Special Procedures, Nuclear Medicine, and four satellite clinics. Staff is comprised of technicians, RNs, patient representatives and 10 radiologists. Total number of procedures in all departments is about 96,000.

Successful candidates will have skills to lead, mentor, and effect change in a friendly environment, and subscribe to the belief that process is as important as outcome.

A bachelor degree in radiology or related healthcare area is required. We seek a minimum of five years’ imaging management experience along with being (RT) (R). My client is a 200-bed hospital on a popular island. The Manager oversees the Case Management and Social Services departments; total of 26 staff.
Ideal candidates will be dynamic leaders who can mentor and develop the staff to their potential, and develop physician & payer relationships that facilitate successful case management practice.
They will also bring five years case management experience. Certification in case management and/or utilization management is a plus. Experience with peds and Ob/Gyn populations is helpful. Experience working in a multi-cultural environment is also a plus.  
A nursing background is preferred, with a bachelor degree in a clinical discipline or related area required (masters preferred). This key position reports to the VP Hospital Operations.

My client is a 100+ bed hospital on one of the popular islands. We are seeking two ANP’s for different populations: one ANP will have considerable expertise with critical care patients and be comfortable with minimal physician supervision. The second ANP will be dedicated to seeing in-patients and patients in the cardiac clinic.

Ideal candidates will be experienced HR generalists with critical thinking skills and the experience to handle sensitive employee relations issues with physicians and staff. Labor relations experience is also a plus. The Director oversees three staff handling employee health, an HR Coordinator and payroll.

My client is a 300+ bed acute care hospital on Florida’s east coast. The Director oversees 12 ORs (7 general, 2 CVOR, 1 endovascular, 1 cysto room; 1 suite converted to storage).  There were 6,500 cases last year with about 75 FTEs.
Exciting plans include an upgrade of two ORs in support of their Cancer Center initiative along with expansion of their robotics program.
Ideal candidates will be experienced leaders and skilled financial managers. BS required and a master’s degree is strongly preferred.

Infection Control Coordinator - Completed Search
This position is in a 500+ bed full service teaching hospital with a Level I trauma center, Level III NICU and Level III PICU. Ideal candidates will bring experience gained in medium to large organizations offering a wide range of clinical programs. In addition to standard infection control responsibilities, this Coordinator participates in a variety of studies and stimulating projects. These include working with the County bioterrorism surveillance alert system; supporting an ICU Performance Improvement project; collaborating with the JCAHO Coordinator.

NICU Manager - Completed Search
This position is in a 22-bed Level III NICU. It boasts an all RN staff (about 35 FTE’s), and sees about 350 patients per year. There are three neonatologists who are supportive of the unit and each other. The unit does selected surgeries but does not do ECMO or open heart. The ground transport services see about 125 patients per year. This unit participates in a nurse floating system that provides for NICU nurses to float only to pediatrics, PICU and Newborn Nursery. BS required, with either a Master’s in Nursing or related field, or Certification in Nursing or Health Care Administration.

Vice President, Quality Support Services - Completed Search
This newly created VP position will oversee Utilization Management, Quality Improvement, Medical Social Services, Patient Safety, Patient Advocacy and Infection Control; 20 FTEs and $1.7 million budget in the first 3 departments of a 300+ bed hospital full service hospital with a Level II trauma center. Ideal candidates will bring demonstrated success instituting programs and implementing benchmarking systems that improve outcomes, be technically proficient, and have the skills to mentor department staff. This health system strongly supports the Shared Governance model. Successful candidates will bring superior interpersonal and communication skills. MS strongly preferred; CPHQ required, with minimum five years of leadership within the Quality field.

Recruitment Manager - Completed Search
This newly created position oversees seven nursing and allied health recruiters at a multi-hospital system that serves Hawaii and the entire Pacific Rim. This position is based in the corporate office and reports to the Director of Workforce Development. Ideal candidates will be experienced health care recruiters who bring management experience and have worked in either a hospital or health care system. Experience using and collecting metrics to drive productivity and results is also key. The organization supports using a full range of recruitment tactics, including some mainland activities. There are generally about 300 openings at any given time, perhaps 130 nursing and the balance being allied health. Bachelor degree preferred.

Diabetes Educator - Completed Search
This position is in a 400+ bed medical center with a Level II Trauma Center offering a full range of services (open heart, NICU, PICU, etc.) The hospital also offers a Family Practice Residency Program. The Diabetes Educator is a teaching position geared to working with Family Practice Residents and patients within the Clinic.   We are seeking candidates who are Bi-lingual in Spanish, with two years’ experience as a Diabetes Educator. This is a Monday-Friday position. This key position reports to the Program’s Faculty Director.

Vice President, Contracting - Completed Search
The VP of Contracting will oversee the development and implementation of the overall strategic plan for provider contracts, reimbursements and managed care at a multi-hospital system serving Hawaii and the entire Pacific Rim. This key position reports to the Chief Financial Officer. Ideal candidates will have 5 to 7 years’ experience with health care commercial and government payer contract formulation and negotiations, as well as a thorough understanding of Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement rules and regulations. Emergency Department Director - Completed Search
The ED Director oversees the ED at a 100 bed full service acute care hospital and two nearby ski clinics, ortho and cardiac are a large part of the ED traffic. The 13-bed Emergency Department saw 18,500 visits last year with about 20 FTEs. There is an excellent 18-member physician group, all of whom are Board Certified in Emergency Medicine. The stable nursing staff is all ACLS and PALS certified. Ideal candidates will be dynamic, experienced leaders bringing strong administrative skills along with current clinical ability. The Director will participate in several key projects, including application for Level III Trauma Center, becoming an Accredited Chest Pain Center and Orthopedic Center of Excellence. This is not a status quo department. Bachelor degree required, MS strongly preferred.

Risk Manager - Completed Search
This position is in a 500+ bed full service hospital. The Risk Manager is the key person spearheading risk management services including insurance/risk financing, claims management and incident reporting, loss control data management and analysis, legal services coordination and loss control education programs.

Director of Case Management - Completed Search
The Director oversees 15.5 FTEs comprised of Case Managers (nurses), Social Workers, and secretarial support at a 100+ bed hospital which is part of a multi-hospital health care system. They are not far from their 5.99 LOS goal. Ideal candidates will bring expertise with Medicaid & Medicare patients, be familiar with RAC audits, and establishing policies and procedures. The department is fully staffed with motivated, Certified employees. Successful candidates will be skilled team-builders experienced working in a multi-cultural environment. This key position reports to the CNO. A Master’s degree in a clinical discipline or related area is required; a nursing background is preferred.

Senior Director of Education - Completed Search
The Senior Director of Education oversees a staff of clinical educators and secretarial support at a 150+ bed non-profit community hospital in Southern California. Ideal candidates will have the opportunity to create and institute a Leadership Development Program for middle and senior management personnel. An O.D. background that complements experience managing clinical departments is ideal. RN and Bachelor degree required; a completed Master degree or enrollment in a program is also required.

Manager of Cardiopulmonary Rehab - Completed Search
The Manager oversees 14 staff providing cardiopulmonary rehab services in both inpatient and outpatient settings at a non-profit 150+ bed hospital in southeastern Washington state. Ideal candidates will work closely with cardiologists and inpatient nurses to foster referrals of post cardiac surgery patients and their families. Promoting growth and attendance in their eight week class dedicated to improving coronary health is seen as another goal. The Manager will develop and manage the budget, lead program development, champion performance improvement and actively market the program. While an RN is strongly preferred, we can consider other clinical backgrounds; bachelor degree preferred.

Director of Women's Services - Completed Search
The Director oversees four units at a 200+ bed tertiary care facility providing health care for women and children in Hawaii and the entire Pacific Basin: the Family Birth Center; Mother-Baby; Ante/Postpartum/High Risk OB, and a small Adult ICU. The scope of responsibility is about 100 beds and 250 staff. This key position reports to the Chief Operating Officer. Successful candidates will have experience directing high-volume departments. Ideal candidates will also subscribe to the philosophy that process is as important as outcome. Management experience in a union environment is desirable. A Bachelor degree is required, MS strongly preferred.

Associate Director, Patient Care Services - Completed Search
