Under the terms of the alliance, Gaming Industry Observer -- based in the Atlantic City area -- will advise Bristol Associates on the qualifications of industry executives in the various gaming markets that it serves, along with other services. Bristol Associates, -- based in Los Angeles -- will provide services that include exclusive research and reporting that will appear in the newsletter.

The alliance comes at a time when the gaming industry, particularly in Atlantic City and Las Vegas, will face growing pressure for qualified executives to fill key spots.

Bristol takes pride in its commitment to technology and maintains one of the largest databases of executive talent in the industry.

Jim Bright joined Bristol in 1975 and works exclusively with gaming companies to locate executives for both corporate and key property level positions. He works extensively on positions within operations, finance and accounting, marketing, human resources and information systems.

Michael Pollock's Gaming Industry Observer, based in the Atlantic City area, tracks political, social, economic, legal and technological trends that impact the gaming industry. In 1996, it received first-place honors from the Newsletter Publishers Foundation Awards for Editorial Excellence in the interpretive/analytical category.

Pollock, who has won 17 journalism awards in his career, is the author of the book, ``Hostage to Fortune: Atlantic City and Casino Gambling,'' published by the Center for Analysis of Public Issues in Princeton. He is a former spokesman for the New Jersey Casino Control Commission and former editorial page editor for The Press of Atlantic City.

Both Bright and Pollock will be speaking Oct. 19th at the Workforce 2000 conference, which is organized by Gaming Industry Observer and the Greater Atlantic City Chamber of Commerce.
