This year, Bristol Associates is celebrating its 50th year in business. Started by Jim and Sandie Bright in 1967, then passed to Jim Bright, Jr. and Lucy Farber, Bristol is proud of its heritage and the fact that it is still helmed by family. Today, Bristol is led by President Ben Farber, nephew of Jim, Jr. and Lucy, and his cousin, Nora Bright, Executive VP and granddaughter of Jim and Sandie.

In addition, the Bristol team can boast of the long tenure of two of its recruiters, Kelly Nelson and Peter Stern. Kelly, recently promoted to Senior Vice President, began working at Bristol in 1995 and Peter Stern, also just promoted to Senior Vice President, has been with the company since 1989.

Peter Stern has specialized in executive recruitment for the food and beverage industry since joining Bristol. He focuses on placements in President and C-suite designations, sales and marketing, production, operations, procurement, product development, logistics and finance, among others. By clients and candidates alike, Peter is touted as “ethical…a straight-shooter,” “knowledgeable and personable,” and “someone who really knows the space.”  Bristol is proud of Peter’s accomplishments and his many contributions to Bristol Associates. Prior to joining Bristol in 1995, Kelly Nelson spent more than 20 years as a senior executive in the travel, tourism, hospitality and airline industries. His experience included serving as Executive Vice President/COO of Carlson Companies Travel Division and Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing, at Hawaiian Airlines. When Kelly Nelson joined Bristol in 1995, he had responsibility for Bristol’s long-standing hotel industry practice. As Bristol expanded, Kelly was instrumental in the development of additional lines of business in the travel and tourism, cruise line, theme park and attractions, facility management, fixed site entertainment and concession services segments. Kelly’s placements include critical executive appointments. He regularly conducts searches for CEO, COO, Staff Vice Presidents as well as Regional and General Management. Clients and candidates alike laud him as a “strategic thinker,” and “a consummate professional of great caliber!” Fully invested in social media sourcing techniques, Kelly is one of the elite 1% of all LinkedIn users with over 11,000 first level connections. Bristol is also pleased to introduce the team’s newest addition, executive recruiter Sean Parry. Sean will be part of the Casino Gaming division and draws on a diverse business background, with experience in marketing, management, operations, business development, and consulting. He is also a veteran, serving the United Sates Army Joint Special Operations Command Center.
