Our client is a manufacturer of a wide array of liquid products, dressings, sauces, and oils. They are located in Illinois. This is a special opportunity to join an established and growing, highly regarded category leader.

The Director of Procurement will implement a scalable procurement infrastructure, including policies, processes, systems, and organizational structure. The successful candidate will identify and execute opportunities to consolidate vendors, standardize purchasing processes, and leverage volume for cost savings. The person will develop an end-to-end sourcing strategy, including RFP development, contract negotiation, supplier relationship management, and risk mitigation.

Additionally, the Director of Procurement will hire, train, and lead a team of procurement professionals, as well as interface with multiple departments to ensure alignment on product delivery, cost control, food safety, and employee engagement. The successful candidate will work closely with operations, R&D, finance, and plant leaders to align procurement efforts with business goals and support new product development, sustainability, and margin improvement. The chosen applicant will ensure adherence to internal controls, ethical sourcing practices, food safety requirements, and all regulatory guidelines.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, or a related field
  • Eight or more years of progressive experience in procurement or supply chain, preferably in food manufacturing
  • Experience with ERP/procurement systems implementation or optimization
  • Experience with strategic sourcing and contract negotiation
  • Experience working cross-functionally with various internal departments

 

Salary Range: $140,000 – $160,000
