Our client is a manufacturer of food products in the Los Angeles area in business for more than 30 years. This is a special opportunity to join an established and growing, highly-regarded category leader. 

We are searching for a Purchasing Manager to collaborate with multiple departments to identify and develop needs and requirements for equipment, materials, products and acceptable substitutions. This person will assess current material availability, and predict future availability, based on the market, delivery systems and other variables. Additionally, the Purchasing Manager will maintain purchasing analysis reports to measure actual sales and consumption, compared to the budget, as well as inventory turnover rates. Other responsibilities include overseeing the department budget, managing vendor relationships, negotiating with suppliers, identifying new suppliers and maintaining record keeping systems.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have advanced MS Excel skills, i.e. Pivot Tables, V-lookups, the ability to create material requirements planning files (MRP) in Excel
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems
  • Food manufacturing experience
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus, but not required
