Our client is a wholesale produce company, passionate about organic food, located in the Los Angeles area (local candidates only).

The Director of Food Safety and Compliance will oversee the company Quality Control program by working closely with Production Managers to monitor quality, food safety and traceability data from raw materials to finished goods. The successful candidate will provide support for new product launches to ensure regulatory compliance, as well as establishing quality and food safety metrics that align with overall business objectives. The Director of Food Safety and Compliance will conduct both internal and third-party audits to ensure compliance with food safety standards. Additionally, they will work with the Operations department regarding quality control duties such as non-conformance, retain inspection and corrective actions.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • A bachelor’s degree in food science, Nutrition, or a related field
  • Minimum of five years of experience in Quality and Food Safety in a food manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience in oversight of Food Safety programs in multiple locations
  • Full understanding of USDA regulations, FDA regulations, and food safety standards.
  • Strong knowledge and certifications in GMP, SQF, HACCP and FSMA PCQI
  • Experience with GFSI certification programs–SQF and/or BRC

Salary Range: $120,000 – $150,000 plus bonus
