Serving the San Antonio Food and Beverage Market
San Antonio is a food headquarters city. H-E-B, one of the country’s most admired grocery retailers, runs its operations from downtown; Whataburger’s corporate offices are here; and C.H. Guenther & Son has been milling in the city since the 1850s, making it one of the oldest continuously operating food companies in the United States. The metro also supports meaningful bakery, snack, and prepared foods manufacturing, and the I-35 corridor connecting San Antonio to Austin has become one of the state’s busiest lanes for food production and distribution. Bristol recruits the retail, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain leaders who drive this market.

Connecting San Antonio's Food Industry with Proven Leaders
Our Approach
As an experienced headhunter agency, we are adept at providing executive recruitment for food management and leadership roles. Since each search is unique, we personalize our process for every company and role, mindfully tailoring our recruitment strategy to surface high-quality applicants who are skilled and ideally matched to your team.
Food manufacturing leadership demands fluency that reaches well beyond a resume, so we screen for candidates who understand the regulatory landscape, from FSMA compliance and PCQI certification, to the FDA and USDA standards that govern daily operations. When clients require specific credentials, we identify professionals carrying HACCP, SQF, and BRC certifications for food safety and quality roles, along with Six Sigma and SAFe credentials for operations and program leadership. We know which candidates can step onto a San Antonio plant floor and hit the ground running.
We also understand the value of diverse teams and can deliver recruitment solutions to help our clients maintain diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in the workplace. The connections we form with both our clients and candidates are valued, and we maintain these relationships with great care.
The Food and Beverage Manufacturing Survey
Since 2020, Bristol has conducted the Annual Food and Beverage Manufacturing Survey, which is designed to help the F&B industry attract, retain, and motivate its talent. Yearly analysis provides insight into professionals’ current attitudes and preferences toward their workplace and the industry at large, as well as how those views shift over the years and how they relate to overall market conditions. How We Work with You in San Antonio
Define
We begin with a comprehensive consultation to gain a deep understanding of your organization, the role, and the specific objectives the position is expected to achieve. This allows us to develop a clear idea of the leadership qualities, experience, and competencies necessary for success within your company. Together, we define the key skill sets and background required for your ideal hire.
Search
We conduct a targeted search utilizing our industry network of more than 1 million professionals, combined with focused outreach efforts, to uncover the right talent, including those not actively seeking new opportunities. For sensitive or confidential searches, we take a discreet and customized approach to ensure your organization’s identity and objectives remain protected throughout the process.
Curate
We identify, interview, and evaluate a select group of qualified professionals, carefully screening and assessing each candidate to ensure their experience and attributes align with your organization’s needs. We then present a curated shortlist of the strongest candidates, highlighting their qualifications, leadership impact, and compensation expectations.
Interview
We seamlessly coordinate and schedule interviews between your team and the selected candidates, ensuring an efficient and organized process from start to finish. Following each interview, we gather feedback, facilitate communication, and either advance candidates to the next stage or further refine the search as needed.
Negotiate
We maintain deep expertise in current compensation trends, including salary, benefits, and relocation considerations. When you are ready to extend an offer, we act as the bridge between your organization and the candidate throughout the negotiation process, providing strategic insights and guidance as needed. We can also assist in developing a competitive compensation package upon request.
Support
Our work does not end once a candidate accepts your offer. We serve as an ongoing advisor following successful placement to ensure long-term alignment and mutual satisfaction as your new hire settles into their role and organization.

We Offer a Range of Services to Meet Your Needs
Retained Search
Our retained search service offers a hands-on consultative approach with our seasoned recruiters, including sourcing, screening, submitting qualified candidates, scheduling interviews, and negotiating employment and compensation packages for the selected finalist. An exclusive partnership with Bristol Associates ensures your organization’s search is our top priority. This service involves a deposit to begin the process, which is then credited toward the final placement fee.
Contingent Search
Our contingent search service provides a flexible partnership with Bristol Associates. This option does not require payment until a placement is made. While this approach is commonly thought to broaden market reach and increase candidate volume, it typically has less centralized attention and a higher fee upon successful placement compared to the retained model.
Compensation Studies
We offer comprehensive compensation studies alongside, or separate from, our retained and contingent search services. Our tailored salary data helps organizations craft competitive offers that attract and retain top talent while saving their HR team time on research and analysis. All data is anonymous and tied to job titles, not individual names, giving employers accurate insights without compromising confidentiality.

Frequently Asked Questions About Food and Beverage Recruiting Around San Antonio
San Antonio is a grocery and milling town with deep Texas and Hispanic food roots. Regional grocery leadership, long-established flour milling, baking operations, tortilla and Mexican food production, and quick-service brand headquarters all sit inside a South Texas ranching and beef economy, with the border trade corridor running south on I-35. A category or retail-facing corporate leader and a plant manager running a milling or masa operation are two distinct searches even when the products end up on the same shelf. We screen for the specific operating environment rather than treating food manufacturing as one category.
